What is the Terry Foundation Scholarship?
The Terry Foundation Scholarship is for spring 2017 graduates of Texas high schools who demonstrate leadership ability, financial need, and scholastic achievement. The amount of the Terry Scholarship is based upon the cost of attendance at the University of Houston and can be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, books, on-campus room and board, and miscellaneous expenses. The package also includes a one-time study abroad stipend of up to $15,000. The Terry Foundation Scholarship is a last-dollar award and, as such, Terry Scholars will have all unmet financial need covered by the Terry Scholarship.
Who Qualifies for the Terry Foundation Scholarship?
Students nominated to the Foundation display strong academic ability demonstrated by SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and class rank. These students are also engaged outside the classroom, participating in extracurricular activities and holding leadership positions. Additionally, all nominees demonstrate some level of financial need.

How to apply?
LSU's admission application is also the application for all university scholarships. Once you apply for admission and are accepted, you are automatically considered for all university scholarships.
What is the deadline to apply?
Our priority deadline for scholarship consideration is November 15. Any student who applies and submits all documents before this date is guaranteed a scholarship if they meet the scholarship requirements. After November 15, scholarships are still awarded as long as funding is available.
What if I make a higher test score later?
If you take the ACT or SAT again and receive a higher score, be sure to send an official copy of your scores to LSU. If you qualify for an upgraded award, you will automatically receive that award if funding is still available.
If you have any questions, contact our office at or 225-578-3103. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.
Thank you for your continuous support of LSU.
